Summer Stillness. After a full day out in the sun, salt and sea (or water), I encourage you to be still. Those warm afternoons and evenings encourage you to slow down and be. Then, when you find that summer heat leading you into an afternoon slumber give yourself permission to give way and take short 20-30 minute nap. The perfect reboot for your body, heart and mind. This is a good practice before you go out to dinner or dance the night away.
As inspired, give your Body, Mind + Heart a BOOST…with a short summer nap.

More on the HOW…next week
Heart food contemplation and potential journal inquiry. In Chinese Medicine, the emotion of early-mid summer is Joy. Now, believe it or not there can be too much or to little ‘Joy’ in the heart. This could be expressed as over excited laughter, agitation or restless mania and a deficiency in joy is feeling flat and/or depressed. An excess of these under the guise of ‘joy’ is an indicator of an imbalance and can most certainly manifest in the physical heart.
Next week, I will dive deeper into the the psycho-spiritual balancing for the energy of JOY and how it relates to your physical heart. First, I want to encourage you to contemplate what the word, joy, means to youand evaluate where and how you engage this emotion in your daily life? Is JOY balanced or is it absent or excessive within you? From there, I would love for you to observe if you have fits of laugher, easily excited or manic moments. Alternatively, are you just numb. Just observe it. Write down what you observe. I will share more about what this means next week.
