While, we have been trained to look to the calendar for the fixed date in space that declares Spring is here (or any season). Yet, Mother Nature is the one that tips us off as to when a season has arrived. Depending on where you live in the world, Spring is budding up, Fall is shedding or the center is rocking steady. I hold these two seasons as sacred opportunities to tidy up your inner and outer worlds. The trees and plants lead by example intoxicating our sensory system with vibrant colors, new fragrances and a short window to savor the grand display of otherworldly beauty and bountiful harvests.
In addition, you are welcomed by Mother Nature to lighten up: mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is the perfect time to pause, sip up what is, rebalance, regenerate and create space. When you give yourself the opportunity to nourish you…you will be feeding yourself with what you need for the immediate season and the future seasons to come. Ultimately, you will be flowing in a natural rhythm that does not require a calendar. It only requires a deeper awareness and relationship with yourself and the environment around you.
As the world begins to reemerge from this historic experience, I welcome you to take time for recovery. I encourage you to do this with your family. The majority of the human species has been locked into fear, fight or flight and a paradox of “unknown confusion.” Which is disorienting and will require a recovery process to work yourself back into harmony (mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually). The good news…it is possible. However, it is best to face..’what is’ rather than ignore the damages and sweep them under the rug. Especially, if you have children and/or adult children.
I see this all the time in my private practice, people emerge from a phase of their healing and are so happy to be free of the discipline it took them to get there that they do not create the space for recovery. I share with my clients and students that there are four distinct phases in healing all things. Similar to the four distinct seasons that exist on this planet. Currently, we are exiting a long WINTER (a full solar cycle of darkness). Now, as you realign with the season you are actually in, I encourage you to find your bearings and evaluate what is for you.
How to Evaluate ‘What Is’.
First, you can make a short list of where you need balance and regenerate. Keep it simple. Do you need support…Mentally, Physically, Emotionally or Spiritually? Choose the one that is most obvious to you. What will occur is that the other aspects of yourself will begin to balance and be feed as you dive into the recovery process in the first identified area. The recovery will more than likely take an integrative approach with self and a few modalities. Finally, if you have children (young adult children) you can help them identify what needs nourishment and balancing. You can make sure that they are supported too.
If you want some additional guidance, I am happy to help you and your family through this process. Furthermore, this evaluation and recovery journey is supported by the gentle and guiding reflections found in Mother Nature. Send me an e-mail to S@SuzanneToro.com and we can discuss further.
