Patterns and Characteristics of Codependence

These patterns and characteristics are offered as a tool to aid in self-evaluation.
They may be particularly helpful to newcomers.

Denial Patterns:

I have difficulty identifying what I am feeling.
I minimize, alter, or deny how I truly feel.
I perceive myself as completely unselfish and dedicated to the well-being of others.
I lack empathy for the feelings and needs of others.
I label others with my negative traits.
I can take care of myself without any help from others.
I mask my pain in various ways such as anger, humor, or isolation.
I express negativity or aggression in indirect and passive ways.
I do not recognize the unavailability of those people to whom I am attracted.

Low Self Esteem Patterns:

I have difficulty making decisions.
I judge what I think, say, or do harshly, as never good enough.
I am embarrassed to receive recognition, praise, or gifts.
I value others’ approval of my thinking, feelings, and behavior over my own.
I do not perceive myself as a lovable or worthwhile person.
I constantly seek recognition that I think I deserve.
I have difficulty admitting that I made a mistake.
I need to appear to be right in the eyes of others and will even lie to look good.
I am unable to ask others to meet my needs or desires.
I perceive myself as superior to others.
I look to others to provide my sense of safety.
I have difficulty getting started, meeting deadlines, and completing projects.
I have trouble setting healthy priorities.

Compliance Patterns:

I am extremely loyal, remaining in harmful situations too long.
I compromise my own values and integrity to avoid rejection or anger.
I put aside my own interests in order to do what others want.
I am hypervigilant regarding the feelings of others and take on those feelings.
I am afraid to express my beliefs, opinions, and feelings when they differ from those of others.
I accept sexual attention when I want love.
I make decisions without regard to the consequences.
I give up my truth to gain the approval of others or to avoid change.

Control Patterns:

I believe most people are incapable of taking care of themselves.
I attempt to convince others what to think, do, or feel.
I freely offer advice and direction to others without being asked.
I become resentful when others decline my help or reject my advice.
I lavish gifts and favors on those I want to influence.
I use sexual attention to gain approval and acceptance.
I have to be needed in order to have a relationship with others.
I demand that my needs be met by others.
I use charm and charisma to convince others of my capacity to be caring and compassionate.
I use blame and shame to emotionally exploit others.
I refuse to cooperate, compromise, or negotiate.
I adopt an attitude of indifference, helplessness, authority, or rage to manipulate outcomes.
I use terms of recovery in an attempt to control the behavior of others.
I pretend to agree with others to get what I want.

Avoidance Patterns:

I act in ways that invite others to reject, shame, or express anger toward me.
I judge harshly what others think, say, or do.
I avoid emotional, physical, or sexual intimacy as a means of maintaining distance.
I allow my addictions to people, places, and things to distract me from achieving intimacy in relationships.
I use indirect and evasive communication to avoid conflict or confrontation.
I diminish my capacity to have healthy relationships by declining to use all the tools of recovery.
I suppress my feelings or needs to avoid feeling vulnerable.
I pull people toward me, but when they get close, I push them away.
I refuse to give up my self-will to avoid surrendering to a power that is greater than myself.
I believe displays of emotion are a sign of weakness.
I withhold expressions of appreciation.

Hopi’s Creation Stories...hold the teachings of “worlds” (not dimensions). Some of their traditional elders have explained to me that they will not teach the traditions, ceremonies, languages and arts to their children and grandchildren. The reason is because they know “the children” are not ready to HONOR and RESPECT the way of the traditions, duties and relationship with the earth. So, they hold the knowledge because they KNOW it will re-emerge with the next world when they are ready to truly learn. 

The veil has been dropping for many decades...as the veil continues to drop...we will be that much closer to welcoming in the SUNRISE.

I will never get tired of taking in the bounty and I will never get tired of taking in the bounty and glory of nature. The perfection, wisdom, and abilities have a complexity that are best to allow to adapt and work with all of you. Rather than grasp at it for this, that or another…you can meet our ‘daily food + water’ with a sense of wonderment and reverence. This is purely a choice. Yet, I will share when we erase duality from the food experience…one will receive exactly what one needs because you have decided to be in a fluid dance with yourself and nature. 

Simple Recipe:

Gather an artichoke, fresh herbs to your liking, lemon, Himalayan salt, cracked pepper, mushrooms (these are @smallhold …the stay fresh for a long time), onion, garlic, olive oil and fresh butter. 

1. Trim the artichoke and place a few cups of water in a wok. Heat to a gentle boil and add the artichoke. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon on top. Cover and steam for 30 minutes or until the artichoke leaves come off effortlessly.

2. Sauté onions, garlic, mushrooms with oil, butter herbs and salt/pepper. Gentle toss till onion is browned and translucent.

2. Bring it all together. Place half of the mushroom mixture at the base of a plate or bowl. Then place the artichoke over top with the remaining mushroom mixture. Dress with the remaining lemon juice and wedges.

I found these beauties at the market. Which inspir I found these beauties at the market. Which inspired me to develop a new recipe. @smallhold thank you for inspiring me and growing these oyster mushrooms with great care. Stayed tuned for next vision after grilling up this simple start. 

As inspired, grill these oyster mushrooms with olive oil, fresh cracked pepper, cayenne pepper, juice of a half of a lemon, dried parsley, thyme and oregano. After you flip once, add a pat of “real” butter (or your favorite alternative). Then, grill up a few cabbage wedges and new potatoes with olive oil, cracked pepper, Himalayan salt and thyme. Serve with fresh parsley and cilantro.  and the juice of the other half of the lemon. Super yum. Save the extra for “verged breakfast hash” and scrambled eggs.

Every lunar cycle the "moon" reflects light and shadow. We have reached the FULL moon in a month currently identified as April in the middle of the 2nd Lunar Cycle (in coordination with Tibetan tradition). Spring and Fall have arrived in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres (irregardless of the SNOW still falling.) The FULL Moon and the season of SPRING invites you to feel and abide in the sweet fragrances of the buddy flowers. It is the perfect time to gather some sweet jasmine and place it out in a jar filled with water to receive a lunar charge and morning sun blessing.

As inspired, continue sipping up the essence of renewal and regeneration. As our brothers and sisters in the Southern Hemisphere are invited to savor the changes of colors and the opportunity to clear their lungs and make space for new creations. No matter where you are on this planet. Start by listening and continue to prepare your seeds and imagination for your vision and take action to support your highest calling. Furthermore, continue to purify and remain clear. During the next few weeks, there will potentially be many energies from the underbelly of this world system, grasping for your attention. The key for all of us is to retain awareness and let go of all grasping. Push away from the ‘river’ banks and flow down the river to intersect your next calling. When a pure mind and clear heart intersects with your destination, it will support you in the most mysterious and magical ways. 

Simply put, do not engage with the “dark forces” bait. Leave it and carry on. We are at the threshold where we all must protect our soul, heart and mind. For those who need help with this, find it immediately. For those who want to help the whole, continue to be present, pray and hold love and compassion in your heart. We are at a climactic moment for all.

BEANS…Bush’s Black Beans 1 can goes a long wa BEANS…Bush’s Black Beans 
1 can goes a long way….

Recipe(s)

Base:
Sauté 1/2 Cauliflower Head (chopped), 1 Pint Mushrooms (chopped), 3 cloves Garlic (minced), 1 onion chopped, to taste and inner knowing: thyme, paprika, oregano, black pepper, chili powder, dried basil, cumin and Himalayan Salt. Pour a few tablespoons of Olive Oil into a skillet and all of the above and sauté till tender. 

Place all in a blender with 1/2 cup walnuts, 1 cup panko flakes, 1 can Bush’s Black Beans and a little more Himalayan Salt. Blend. Then, Divide into 3 Bowls.

1. Black Bean Olive Spread. Add 1/2 cup chopped Greek Olives and 1/2 cup minced Kale. Blend. Then, add to your favorite bread or use as sauce for your next meal.

2. Breakfast Black Bean Patties. Add 1 egg and 1/2 Cup (more Panko Flakes). Stir. Let set in the fridge for 30 minutes. Then, add Olive oil to a pan and place 1/4 cup of batter in pan. Repeat 2-3 times. Cook for 3-4 minutes then flip. Serve with a soft scramble, fresh tomatoes and a salad. 

3. Black Bean Hummus Dip. Add lemon, olive oil and a little more crushed black pepper. Top with a dash of paprika and chili pepper. Serve in a bowl with fresh veggies on the side.

Remediation. Regeneration. Proactive Practices can make all the difference from here forward. I am living example of regenerating myself many times over. The constant is change. With proactive practices in the midst of a reactive situation, everyone can benefit.

This moment here on planet earth is about humanity coming forward to help each other. We are the ones we have been waiting for. 

My heart and daily prayers go out to all the communities being impacted by the national and international spilling, exploding, fighting, shaking and derailing. May we learn from what lead us here. May those who grasp for control…for reasons many of us do not understand…May you all find peace and inspiration to take action for the benefit of all beings in the universe. There is no need for all this active demolition. Please, sit back and take a breath. 

Humanity…stay steadfast and lean into the possible. There will be a SUNRISE. 

Action to take in communities compromised: 1. Create a water hole for clean water pick up and mobile showering units. 2. Start clean up 3. Remediate soil, water and air…start NOW. 4. Start back up food production in clean spaces and neighboring states and/or countries. Farms can be built everywhere. The can even be built on the ocean. Time to revive all our farmlands, waterways and aquifers. We have all the solutions.
