Popcorn is a simple fun snack that you can make an Popcorn is a simple fun snack that you can make and receive the benefit of that crunching sensation and so much more. 

Fun Facts: The satisfying crunch of popcorn stimulates mechanoreceptors in the mouth and jaw, sending rapid sensory signals to the brain’s reward center, the nucleus accumbens. This triggers a surge of dopamin, a key neurotransmitter tied to pleasure, motivation, and mood elevation, creating an immediate feel-good response. Much like biting into a crisp apple or chip, the intense auditory and tactile feedback from popcorn amplifies this reward pathway, making the act of eating it inherently enjoyable and uplifting. 

Beyond pleasure, the rhythmic, repetitive motion of crunching popcorn activates the parasympathetic nervous system, signaling the body to relax. This mechanical chewing mimics stress-relief behaviors like gum chewing, which research shows lowers cortisol levels and reduces anxiety by stimulating the vagus nerve. As a result, munching on popcorn can serve as a simple, natural way to unwind and ease tension. 

Here I added a little Maui onion flavored seaweed by @oceanshalo . I popped the popcorn stove top with olive oil, Himalayan Salt and organic butter (coconut oil is equally satisfying). Then, tossed in the seaweed.  What are your favorite crunchy snacks and/or popcorn toppings?

It is officially SOUP SEASON and this is the cozie It is officially SOUP SEASON and this is the coziest, easiest, throw-it-together pot of goodness you’ll make all fall/winter. 

+Start with a satisfying sizzle of onions + garlic hitting hot olive oil 

+Toss in the thyme, oregano, basil, chili flakes, cracked pepper, Himalayan salt  and fresh black pepper 

+Add slices sweet potatoes, ripped kale, your fave mushrooms, and a handful of cherry tomatoes that burst in the pot 

+Pour in veggie broth, lid on, low simmer 20-30 mins 
+Enjoy a thick, chunky, steamy soup in a bowl with a massive torn hunk of cumin & olive sourdough from  @colossusbread getting dunked. 

Your whole kitchen smells like heaven and it’s mostly hands-off. Perfect lazy dinner or meal prep.

I am so thankful for my PUP and the journey we both took to enjoy this moment in life together.

As inspired, hang out with a domesticated or wild furry friend…just be. Observe how your nervous system regulates and the ever present calm.

Dogs sync your nervous system like a living biofeedback device. Eye contact raises oxytocin, their breath paces your vagus nerve, and 10 minutes of petting drops cortisol 30 %. Science says your pup is a walking parasympathetic reset button.

Need a quick, easy meal for yourself or the fam? This took less than 30 mins, including roasting the potatoes! ⏰

Instructions: 
1. Roast purple potatoes at 375°F for 25 mins. 
2. Scramble 1 egg. Cut ½ pack of your fave @oceanshalo seaweed snacks in half. 
3. Grab a handful of shaved cabbage + carrots. Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a pan. Add slaw, cook 1–2 mins. Add egg, let it set, then toss in seaweed. 
4. Flip once, plate it, open or folded, you decide! 
5. Heat potstickers (homemade or frozen) in a pan. 
6. Plate potstickers + potatoes. Top with fermented radishes, sesame crunch, sweet chili sauce, fresh basil, and cracked pepper. 
7. Finish with the remaining @oceanshalo seaweed snack. Dig in! 🍴
